City of Rock Falls Building Code Committee met April 5.

3.Approve minutes of              The minutes were reviewed by the committee.                 Minutes approved

March 1st, 2017 meeting.

4.Building Inspector               Building Inspector Mark Searing informed the  committee   No Action

   updates                             that a court date has a been set for the Warehime house. 

                                            The owner has 3 people try to purchase it,and is currently 

                                            working on a sale.

                                           The Committee discussed the City Code that prohibits 

                                           residential lots having only a garage on them. Changing the 

                                            ordinance could lead to many lots being used for storage 

                                            facilities inside and out with a privacy fence.

                                           Inspector Searing informed the committee that the city has    No Action

                                           been awarded a  $71,000 abandoned property grant. There 

                                            is a plan for 3 demolitions this year.

5.01d Business:                   The County is still meeting on this. Sterling and Rock Falls      Tabled

                                          and Clerk Arduini will work together to use better judgement 

                                          when assessing liens to properties based on the timing, and 

                                          amount of value of the properties.

6.New Business:                 The committee reviewed the bid tabulation for the 2017 lawn       The Committee
