Schmaling Memorial Public Library District Board met April 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Board of Trustees of the Schmaling Memorial Public Library met in regular session on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 5 p.m. Teresa called the meeting to order.

Members present were Nancy Countryman, Jodie Dornbush, Paula Ensinger, Sandy Hamilton, Barb Knight, Teresa Ray and Tom Stange. Britni Hartman and Kathy Quick were also present.

A motion was made by Sandy to approve the minutes of the March 21, 2017 meeting. All ayes were heard, and the minutes were approved.

Nancy made a motion to pay the bills. The motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote.

Librarian’s Report

1. Britni reported that we will be receiving the 2017 Per Capita grant in the amount of $2702.79.

2. We did not receive the FACE Garden Grant this year.

3. Britni will be hiring someone soon to fill the part-time position.

4. Barb made a motion to take the $500 payout of the Flikkema Endowment Fund for Math and Science books for summer reading program. The motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote.

Building and Grounds Committee

No report

Finance Committee

Britni and Nancy completed the Prevailing Wage Report and the Consensus Report.

Library Committee

No report

Miscellaneous Items

1. Kathy Quick attended the meeting to determine if she would like to serve on the board.

2. Statement of Economic Interests are due May 1.

3. Tom Stange was thanked for his service on the board.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 5 p.m.

Nancy made a motion to adjourn. All ayes were heard; motion passed.
