Apple River FPD responds to eight fires in 2016

Apple River Fire Protection District responded to nine calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the NW Illinois News.

The calls in Apple River included eight fires - five structure fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $106,000 in fire loss - or about $13,250 per fire.

The department also received one false call.
