State Representative Bradley J. Fritts shared exciting news regarding legislative updates and community initiatives in his recent communication to constituents.

In a significant achievement, Fritts expressed his delight as House Bill 5011 was passed in the House with a unanimous vote of 108-0. The bipartisan bill, developed in collaboration with the Comptroller’s office and the Township Officials of Illinois, aims to alleviate financial burdens on taxpayers in townships by adjusting the requirements for yearly audits. Fritts highlighted the impact of the bill, stating, "Smaller townships in rural areas often struggle to pay for these yearly audits, if they can even find an auditor, which forces them to raise property tax levies to cover the expense."

Addressing the challenges faced by rural Illinoisans, Fritts emphasized the importance of the bill in providing relief to residents who have experienced consistent tax increases, stating, "Rural Illinoisans have been hit with consistent increases in taxes and this bill will finally give rural residents the break they deserve."

Fritts also extended an invitation to the community to participate in an upcoming Rx Drop-Off Drive at the Mendota Civic Center, emphasizing the importance of safely disposing of unwanted or expired prescription medication.

Acknowledging the support from local organizations, Fritts expressed gratitude to the Meadows of Franklin Grove Assisted Living for hosting a town hall meeting focused on rural healthcare access. Additionally, Fritts welcomed local superintendents to engage in discussions at his district office, emphasizing the significance of supporting education and educators in Illinois.

In a move to engage students with an interest in state government, Fritts announced the commencement of the 2024 Summer Internship Program, encouraging interested applicants to apply for the opportunity.

Furthermore, Fritts reiterated his availability to constituents, encouraging individuals planning to visit Springfield to reach out for a meeting, emphasizing transparency and accountability in government operations.

As Fritts continues his efforts to pass bills in Springfield and serve the community, he encouraged constituents to stay updated through his website and social media platforms for timely information on legislative developments and initiatives.
