Freeport Athletics reported a series of losses for Freeport High School girls’ sports teams in recent competitions, according to posts on its official Twitter account.
On September 30, 2025, Freeport Athletics posted that the freshmen volleyball team lost to Guilford with a final score of “23-25, 13-25.” Later the same day, the account shared another update: “Tennis Girls Varsity loses to Guilford with a final score of 1 – 4.” On October 1, it was announced that “Girls Varsity Flag Football loses to Harlem with a final score of 6 – 12.”
Freeport High School serves grades nine through twelve and had an enrollment of 1,084 students during the 2019-2020 school year. The school is located in Freeport within Stephenson County (source). According to data from the Illinois Report Card, grade ten represented the largest portion of students at 24.2 percent during that period (source). Demographically, Freeport High School’s student body consisted of approximately half white students (50.5 percent), followed by black (24.2 percent), Hispanic (11.4 percent), and Asian (1.1 percent) populations as reported for the same academic year (source).
