Freeport Athletics reported on several high school sports outcomes on August 26 and 27, 2025, including volleyball and soccer matches involving Freeport High School teams.

On August 26, the account posted: “Volleyball Girls Freshmen loses to Harlem with a final score of 23-25, 25-14, 6-15.” The following day, another update stated: “Boys Soccer defeats Pecatonica! Varsity 4-1 Johnny Mari had his first career hat trick with Lesman Argueta scoring his first career goal off a corner. Lucas Viveros had 2 assists & earned a PK. JV 8-0 Brayan P & Jonathan E both had hat tricks & Grayson Batease scored 2.” On the same date, Freeport Athletics also announced: “Volleyball Girls Junior Varsity defeats Harlem with a final score of 25-16, 25-20.”

Freeport High School is located in Freeport within Stephenson County and serves grades nine through twelve. As of the 2019-2020 academic year, it enrolled approximately 1,084 students (source). The student body was distributed across grades as follows: about 21.6 percent were freshmen (grade nine), while sophomores (grade ten) represented the largest group at roughly 24.2 percent (Illinois Report Card). Juniors accounted for about 22.1 percent and seniors made up around 20.1 percent (Illinois Report Card). Demographically, during that period the school’s population consisted of approximately half white students (50.5 percent), with black students comprising about one-quarter (24.2 percent), Hispanic students at just over one-tenth (11.4 percent), and Asian students making up just over one percent (Illinois Report Card).
