Report: Rock Falls spent $8,658 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Rock Falls Elementary School District 13 is up 15 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Whiteside County school district spent $7,500 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,658 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 977 to 1065.

Rock Falls's spending in 2016-17 was 33 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
