Report: Montmorency spent $8,445 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Montmorency Community Consolidated School District 145 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Whiteside County school district spent $7,990 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,445 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 346 to 283.

Montmorency's spending in 2016-17 was 35 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
