Report: Lena Winslow spent $9,428 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Lena Winslow Community Unit School District 202 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Stephenson County school district spent $8,509 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,428 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 858 to 812.

Lena Winslow's spending in 2016-17 was 27 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
