Report: Dakota spent $10,791 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Dakota Community Unit School District 201 is down 1 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Stephenson County school district spent $10,858 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,791 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 865 to 807.

Dakota's spending in 2016-17 was 17 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
