Report: Kings spent $17,658 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Kings Consolidated School District 144 is up 32 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Ogle County school district spent $13,374 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,658 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 90 to 71.

Kings's spending in 2016-17 was 36 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
