Dixon Rural Fire Protection District responded to 93 calls in 2017 - 4.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Dixon Rural included 79 fires - 32 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 38 other fires.

In all, the department saw $1,761,450 in fire loss - or about $22,297 per fire.

The department also received 14 false calls, including three malicious calls and 11 other false calls.

The calls resulted in three civilian fire-related injuries and eight civilian fire-related deaths.
