Mt Morris Fire Protection District responded to 57 calls in 2017 - 11.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Mt Morris included 35 fires - 25 structure fires, two vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $55,770 in fire loss - or about $1,593 per fire.

The department also received 22 false calls, including one malicious call and 21 other false calls.
