How much has Creston CCSD 161 overspent over the past 10 years?

Creston Community Consolidated School District 161 accumulated $65,262 in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Creston CCSD 161 reported 49.5 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went up 24.8 percent.
