Stockton Community Unit School District 206 students suspended 46 times in a single school year

Stockton Community Unit School District 206 reported 46 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 46 students during the year. That equates to 7.4 percent of the 625 students enrolled.

Of the 30 in-school suspensions, including 13 elementary or middle schoolers and 17 high schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 29 incidents. There were one incidents of a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm. For 21 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes nine incidents. There were three incidents of a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm. For eight incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
