CITY OF STERLING: Open Burning

Burning

City of Sterling issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.

Open burning is not allowed.

However,

1) A recreational fire is allowed in an enclosed vessel, fire pit or fireplace (such

as a Chiminea) designed for such use. The vessel must use a spark screen.

2) No garbage or yard waste is to be burned.

3) The fire must be supervised at all times.

4) No fires when the wind speed exceeds a constant 10mph.

5) The fire must be extinguished if a complaint is filed by the neighbors

Use common sense and have a garden hose available to extinguish the fire if

necessary.
