Town of Apple River Board met Aug. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

MEETING called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Rick Scoglio.

Present: Chairman Rick Scoglio; Supervisor Dave Waterman; Supervisor Ken Sample; Town Clerk Arlen Peterson; Town Treasurer Linda Peterson; Guests: Fire Chief Alec Adams, Assistant Fire Chief Jim Root; Plan Commission member Steve Arduser; Nick Clobes of Monarch Paving

Verification of Public Notice was affirmed by Clerk.

Approval of Agenda: Supervisor Sample Moved to reject all Culvert Bids and ask for Quotes and Proposals bids at a later date. Clerk is to retain all Culvert bids unopened. 2nd by Supervisor Waterman carried by voice vote.

Approval of Minutes: Moved by Supervisor Sample to approve with change in Culvert bids, 2nd by Supervisor Waterman, carried by voice vote.

Public Input: None

Report by Clerk: Clerk reported on several issues.

Report by Treasurer: August reports were presented. Supervisor Waterman moved to approve, 2nd by Supervisor Sample. Motion carried 3-0.

County Report: No County Representative.

Vouchers: July 17th to August 13

th vouchers read and moved to approve by Supervisor Waterman, second by Supervisor Sample. Carried by voice

Supervisor Reports: None

Committee Reports: None

Department Reports:

 Fire Department/First Responders Report: Chief Adams reported one (1) auto accidents, three (3) medical calls and one (1) Camper fire and one (1) cattle trailer fire call during the prior month.

 Highway Dept: Nothing

 Town Plan Commission: Nothing

Issues to be reviewed and/or acted on:

1. Town/County Road Service Maintenance agreement tabled until September

2. Pole Barn Removal on 135th Ave is considered done.

3. Road project bids were discussed and opened. Bids from Monarch for Paving are: 110th St-$86,648.70 and 153rd Ave-$109,558.70

a combined bid for both projects is-$194,286.76. Monarch shouldering bids were 110th St-$7,909.59 and 153rd Ave-$10,754.70 a combined bid for both was-$16,254.85. A shouldering bid from Al Cebery was opened 110th St-$6,574.00 and 153rd Ave-$8033.00.

Mr. Cebery will be asked to rebid using 2 ½ inch depth. He will do so.

4. Supervisor Sample presented drafts of letters to be sent to owners of properties at 1. 1734 West White Ash land and 2. 1768

West White Ash Lane to improve conditions and/or structures on their properties. Motion made by Supervisor Waterman, 2nd by Supervisor Sample, moved by voice vote.

5. Date for a 2019 budget meeting was set for Tuesday September 25th at 6 pm.

Tax Bond for Treasurer hold until October

Georgetown Fire Coverage hold until October

Road and Culvert Bids Hold until October

Planning Commission member’s terms of service

Next Meeting Date and Time: Monday, September 10th, 2018: Supervisor Workshop begins at 6 pm; Regular monthly meeting begins at 7 pm.

Adjourn: Chair entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. Supervisor Sample moved to adjourn, 2nd by Supervisor Waterman, carried.
