Town of Apple River Board met July 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

MEETING called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Rick Scoglio.

Present: Chairman Rick Scoglio; Supervisor Dave Waterman; Supervisor Ken Sample; Town Clerk Arlen Peterson; Town Treasurer Linda Peterson; Guests: Fire Chief Alec Adams, Assistant Fire Chief Jim Root; Plan Commission member Steve Arduser; twenty four (24) members of the public.

Verification of Public Notice was affirmed by Clerk.

Approval of Agenda: Supervisor Sample moved to approve with the addition of approval of appointed Clerk position referendum ordinance, and moving the Eco-Green Cemetery issue up to be just prior to public input. Supervisor Waterman 2nd. Carried by voice

vote.

Approval of Minutes: Moved by Supervisor Waterman to approve, 2nd by Supervisor Sample, carried by voice vote.

Public Input: Five members of the public spoke about the Eco-Green Cemetery issue.

Report by Clerk: Clerk reported on several issues.

Report by Treasurer: July reports were presented. Supervisor Waterman moved to approve, 2nd by Supervisor Sample. Motion carried 3-0.

County Report: No County Representative.

Vouchers: June 12th to July 16

th vouchers read and moved to approve by Supervisor Waterman, second by Supervisor Sample. Carried by voice

Supervisor Reports: Supervisor Sample reported some concerns with the Wisconsin Towns Association 

Committee Reports: None

Department Reports:

 Fire Department/First Responders Report: Chief Adams reported two (2) auto accidents, four (4) medical calls and two (2) fire calls during the prior month.

 Highway Dept: Nothing

 Town Plan Commission: Nothing

Issues to be reviewed and/or acted on:

1. Town/County Road Service Maintenance agreement tabled until August

2. Pole Barn Removal on 135th Ave tabled until August

3. Clerk will post RFB’s for 153rd Avenue paving and Shouldering, 110th St paving and shouldering, and for the replacement of five (5) culverts plus the installation of one (1) in a new spot. A total of six different bids are sought, with the Town Board reserving the right to reject any or all bids due to lack of funding.

4. Supervisor Waterman moved to pre-buy 3500 gallons of LP heating fuel from Quality Propane in Chippewa Falls (1.25/gal capped) and to have the tanks filled now at summer fill prices (1.09/gal).

Adjourn: Chair entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. Supervisor Waterman moved to adjourn, 2nd by Supervisor Sample, carried.
