Ogle County said "yes" to one referendum and rejected another on Nov. 6.
Voters came out against a referendum calling for the New Milford Fire Protection District Proposition to Increase Maximum Tax Rate for Corporate Purposes: "Shall the maximum allowable tax rate for the New Milford Fire Protection District be increased from .305 to .40% of the value of all taxable property within the District as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue?"
With 100 percent of the votes counted, the proposition had 6 votes in favor and 15 against.
Voters approved a referendum calling for Polo Community Unit School District Number 222 to elect board of education members at large: "Shall the members of the Board of Education of Polo Community Unit School District Number 222, Ogle, Lee and Whiteside Counties, Illinois, be elected at large and without restriction by area of residence within said School District rather than in accordance with the provisions of Section 10-10.5(a) of the School Code of the State of Illinois, as amended, which require mandatory board representation according to congressional townships?"
With 100 percent of the votes counted, the proposition had 900 votes in favor and 456 against.
