Whiteside County said "no" to one referendum and approved another on Nov. 6.

The Morrison-Police Protection Levy—"Shall the City of Morrison have the authority to increase the available levy under Section 11-1-5.1 of the Municipal Code, for the purpose of police protection within the municipality, to a rate not to exceed .60% of the value of all the taxable property in such municipality?"—did not pass.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, 734 were in favor and 855 opposed the measure.

The Polo Community Unit School District No. 222 Proposition to elect Board of Education members at large did pass. The question on the ballot was, "Shall the members of the Board of Education of Polo Community Unit School District Number 222, Ogle, Lee and Whiteside Counties, Illinois, be elected at large and without restriction by area of residence within said School District rather than in accordance with the provisions of Section 10-10.5(a) of the School Code of the State of Illinois, as amended, which require mandatory board representation according to congressional townships?

With 100 percent of the votes counted, six were in favor and four opposed the measure.
