Snowparking

City of Dixon issued the following announcement on Nov. 27.

The Dixon Police Department would like to remind the citizens of Dixon of the ordinance for Even/Odd Parking Rules for Snow Removal. This procedure will be in effect from the time we reach 2 inches of snow until the side of the street affected is cleared.

On Sunday, November 25th, through the early morning hours of Monday, November 26th, the City of Dixon received in excess of 10 inches of snow. Public Works crews are working hard to clear the city streets. Crews will be returning to work over night to clear the mounds of snow from the downtown. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we restore things to normal over the next week.

• On even numbered days (ex. – December 20th), cars will be required to park on the even numbered side of the street (ex. – the side of the street 320 West 9th Street is located on).

• On odd numbered days (ex. – December 21st), cars will be required to park on the odd numbered side of the street (ex. – the side of the street 321 West 9th Street is located on).

On November 28th, 2018, the Dixon Police Department will be enforcing the city ordinance for Even/Odd Parking Rules for Snow Removal. So for Wednesday, November 28th, vehicles are required to park on the even numbered side of the road.

On Thursday, November 29th, vehicles are required to park on the odd numbered side of the road.

Pursuant to city ordinance, fines for “Snow Parking” violations are $75.00 and the vehicles will be towed, so the plows can clear the roadway. The tow fe will depend on the towing agency. If anyone has questions about this ordinance please contact the Dixon Police Department at (815)288-4411.
