Q2 real estate sales report: German Valley

Median prices rose in German Valley over last year, and are down 30.4 percent over 10 years, adjusted for inflation, according to second quarter sales data collected by BlockShopper.com.

From April to June, 4 homes sold in German Valley for a median price of $76,950. That's 7 percent higher than median home sale prices for the second quarter of 2017.

In the second quarter, there were no foreclosures in German Valley.

Median property tax for homeowners in German Valley was $2,773.60 in 2016 according to tax data from that year. That means homeowners pay 7.4 percent of their home's value in taxes.

Statewide, Illinois homeowners pay an effective property tax rate of 2.2 percent, according to a 2017 property tax analysis by ATTOM Data Solutions, ranking it second among U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
