Report: River Bend spent $9,214 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at River Bend Community Unit School District 2 is up 6.5 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Whiteside County school district spent $8,652 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,214 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 917 to 952.

River Bend's spending in 2017-18 was 30.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
