Report: Kings spent $16,896 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Kings Consolidated School District 144 is up 10.1 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Ogle County school district spent $15,347 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $16,896 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 96 to 80.

Kings's spending in 2017-18 was 26.7 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
