The price of local government in 2016: City of Albany

The City of Albany budget was $1.97 million for its 2016 fiscal year, or $4,011 per household.

That's a decrease of 4.5 percent from 2015, when the city spent $2.07 million, or $4,201 per household.

Albany has 492 households and a population of 895.

Since 2001, the City of Albany budget has grown by 49.4 percent, from $1.32 million. The city population has remained same.

Salaries accounted for 13.8 percent of city spending in 2016. Albany property taxpayers paid $273,407 for five full-time employees and 18 part-time employees.
