The campaign committee of state representative candidate Tony McCombie, McCombie for Illinois, returned a $487.50 contribution from Mel Shaver on April 13, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Shaver has not made any other contributions to Tony McCombie in the past 12 months.
