Compton home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Compton rose by $19,000 while total sales decreased by 76.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were three homes sold, with a median sale price of $42,000 - a 82.6% increase over the $23,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 13 homes sold in Compton in 2016.

The median sales tax in Compton for 2017 was $2,135. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,806. This marks an increase of 18.2%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 5.1%.
