Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Stephenson County?

There were 15 offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Stephenson County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by NW Illinois News.

The data shows that 13 men and two women were released in Stephenson County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2016, and the oldest was a 66-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Nicholas R. Skeel. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014 when he was 32 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
