BLACKHAWK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Freeport High School Announcements Aug. 27

Blackhawk Elementary School issued the following announcement on Aug. 27.

Mrs. Regan has your first opportunity to earn some scholarship money and receive national recognition. On the bulletin board outside of room 130 is posted the information for the 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. This award was created to recognize students in middle level and high school grades who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Come see Mrs. Regan for more information or assistance.

FHS is looking for the right candidate to put on our mascot costume and be Mr. Twister at various events this school year. See Mr. Fitzpatrick in the business office this week.

The Gender Sexuality Alliance Club, or GSA, meets each Tuesday after school in room 214, Mr. Roloff's room. This is a student-run club which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, and talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. All are welcome.

Lifetouch picture day will be held Friday, August 30 in the West Gym. Packets for ordering will be given to you in your English class. Ordering must be completed using the packet before the picture day is over--ordering after picture day will only be accessible online with our school ID code. If you or your parents have questions about ordering, please call 1-800-505-9496.

Student Council: Any freshman interested in being on student council, there will be a meeting Tuesday, Aug. 27 in room 219 at 2:45-3:15.
