Amboy Community Unit School District 272 Finance/Building & Grounds Committee met June 26.

President Jones called the Finance/Building & Grounds Meeting of the Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. All board members were present. Also present were Joshua Nichols, Michele James, Brandon Little and Joyce Schamberger.
The floor was opened to comments or questions from the audience. There were none.
A motion was made by Payne and seconded by Stenzel to approve the construction management contract with the CTS Group in the amount of $9,000,000 and authorize Superintendent, Joshua Nichols, to sign the contract pending internal review of the scope of the work and the contract, as presented. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
A motion was made by Schnaiter and seconded by Leffelman to accept the bids from Martin & Company for the earthwork, concrete, & site utilities for the Junior High/High School gymnasium addition of the existing High School building, as presented. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
A motion was made by Schnaiter and seconded by Payne to approve the 2019-2020 amended school calendar, as presented. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be back to two full days and Veteran’s Day will be a full day of school. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
CTS Group members, Michele James and Brandon Little, and the Board discussed a groundbreaking ceremony. They will get back to us with details.
At 7:10 p.m., a motion was made by Leffelman and seconded by Stenzel to go into Executive Session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body; collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives; and setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
At 7:27 p.m., a motion was made by Schnaiter and seconded by White to return to Open Session. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
A motion was made by Payne and seconded by Stenzel to approve the employment of Faith Sachs as Special Education Teacher at the High School, effective for the 2019-2020 school year. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
A motion was made by Schnaiter and seconded by Leffelman to adjourn the meeting at 7:28 p.m. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
