Illinois State House District 71 issued the following announcement on Oct. 3

If you or someone you know is a legal permanent resident interested in taking the major step of becoming a citizen of the United States, State Representative Tony McCombie is hosting a workshop to help with the application process. McCombie said. “Our country is a nation of immigrants. I appreciate our partner organizations who have the hands-on expertise to assist my constituents with this opportunity.”

Partner Organizations include the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights, Esperanza Legal Assistance Center, and the YWCA of Sauk Valley.

The workshop will be held at the YWCA of Sauk Valley on Saturday, October 26th beginning at 10:00 a.m. and running until everyone has been helped.
