City of Lanark issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.
This is a 5k run/walk race to raise money for The Eastland Council of Churches “Winter Wear” program. The race is being organized by The Lanark Community Club, both the ECC and LCC are nonprofit organizations. This year we are adding a few twists. We are asking participants to “Think Spring” and dress accordingly by wearing warm colorful spring inspired outfits with prizes to be awarded for the best spring inspired outfits. Dressing like spring is 100% optional but thought it would help bring more interest to this annual event. We have added a free kid’s fun run this year!
