Byron Forest Preserve District issued the following announcement on April 12.
Thanks to the Living Lands and Waters Million Tree Project, we will be distributing free oak tree seedlings to residents this Wednesday! We have a total of 750 bur oak, red oak and swamp oak trees for distribution. This is on a first come, first served basis. Ogle County residents can take up to 10 seedlings each to plant on their property while supplies last. Stop by the Jarrett Prairie Center, 7993 North River Road, in Byron this Wednesday to pick-up your seedlings.
