Jan.-June 2019 Recap: Parolees in Freeport convicted of property crimes

There were eight offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Freeport during the first half of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the NW Illinois News.

The data shows that eight men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 36. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Jose L. Martinez. He was convicted of a property crime in 2015 when he was 20 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the first half of 2019 who were convicted of property crimes.
