The Central Bank of Illinois has donated $15,000 to local area food pantries.

According to the Rochelle News-Leader website, the bank donated to seven food pantries scattered throughout the area: the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, the Ashton Care Pantry in Ashton, the Bureau County Food Pantry in Princeton, Illinois Valley Food Pantry in LaSalle,  Colona Township Food Pantry located in Colona, Fulton Food Pantry in Fulton, and Life-Line in Oregon.

Central Bank officials told the News-Leader they realize customers and communities are facing economic hard times due to the COVID-19 crisis. They also believe the role of a community bank is to provide support in many ways.

Central Bank is a full-service commercial bank based in Genesco that provides many banking programs and trust services to people and companies throughout the region.
