City of Morrison City Council met June 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The Morrison City Council met in Regular Session on June 22, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Morrison Community Room, 307 S Madison St., Morrison, IL. Mayor Everett Pannier called the meeting to order. City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen recorded the minutes.

Aldermen present on roll call were: Josh West, Vern Tervelt, Arlyn Deets, Dale Eizenga, Ken Mahaffey, Mick Welding and Harvey Zuidema. Kevin Bruckner Jr. was absent.

Other City officials present were City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen, Chief of Police Brian Melton, City Treasurer John Prange and Public Services Director Lori Matlack.

There was no Public Comment.

Alderman Eizenga moved to approve the Consent Agenda consisting of the following: June 8, 2020 Minutes; May's Treasurer's Report; Bills Payable; Appointment of Deb Hauptman & Becky West to the Odell Library Board and the referral of discussion and possible action related to fence set back requirements to P&Z, seconded by Alderman Mahaffey. On a roll call vote of 7 ayes (Tervelt, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets) and 0 nays, the motion carried.

Other Items for Consideration, Discussion & Information: 1) Illinois Reopening Phases/City Events (Rec Activities, City Facilities, etc.) 2) Cemetery Restoration Levy Referendum 65 ILCS 5/11-50-1 0.025%)

Alderman Mahaffey left at 7:45 p.m.

Executive Session: 1) Pursuant to 5 İLCS 120/2(c)(1), Alderman Tervelt moved to enter Executive Session to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee(s), seconded by Alderman Eizenga. On a roll call vote of 6 ayes (Zuidema, Mahaffey, West, Tervelt, Eizenga, Deets) and 0 nays, the motion carried. Executive Session began at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Regular session resumed at 9:00 p.m. No action was taken as a result of Executive Session.

With no additional business to discuss, Alderman West moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman Deets (All ayes). Meeting adjourned at 9:02 p.m.
