City of Morrison City Council met June 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The Morrison City Council met in Regular Session at 7:00 p.m. in the Morrison Community Room, 307 S Madison St., Morrison, IL. Mayor Everett Pannier called the meeting to order. City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen recorded the minutes

Aldermen present on roll call were: Josh West, Vern Tervelt, Arlyn Deets, Dale Eizenga, Ken Mahaffey, Mick Welding, Kevin Bruckner Jr. and Harvey Zuidema.

Other City officials present were City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen, Chief of Police Brian Melton, City Treasurer John Prange and Public Services Director Lori Matlack.

There was no Public Comment.

Alderman Mahaffey moved to approve the Consent Agenda consisting of the following: May 11 & 26th Minutes; March & April Treasurer's Reports; Bills Payable; P&Z Minutes; Ordinance 20-08 Authorizing Disposal of Surplus Property - removing leaf vacuum from the list; Referring Request for Variances - 204 W Winfield Street, 613 W Morris Street and 202 Elm Street and the Accessory Use Text Amendment to the P&Z Commission; Clerk Resignation Letter; 509 W Park Street Tree Removal Request; Appointment of Jon Gentz to the Historic Preservation Commission; Lot Line Change for Parcel I.D. 0918186010 and Bridgeview Subdivision - Phase II. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Tervelt, Bruckner, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets) and 0 nays, the motion carried. Mayor Pannier removed #3 & #4 from the Consent Agenda and moved them to Other Items for Consideration, Discussion & Information.

Items for Consideration & Possible Action: 

1) Alderman Eizenga moved to approve the French Creek/Tech Drive Improvement, seconded by Alderman Zuidema. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Tervelt, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets, Bruckner) and 0 nays, the motion carried. 

2) Alderman Eizenga moved to approve the Resolution for Maintenance under Illinois Highway Code, seconded by Alderman Deets. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Tervelt, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets, Bruckner) and 0 nays, the motion carried. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Tervelt, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets, Bruckner) and ( nays, the motion carried. 

3) Alderman Bruckner moved to approve Ordinance 20-11 Amending Chapter 20, Article II, Section 20-19, And the Fee Schedule of the City of Morrison, To Provide for an Annual Fee for a Class B-3 Liquor License, seconded by Alderman Zuidema. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Tervelt, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets, Bruckner) and ( nays, the motion carried. 

4) Alderman Welding moved to approve Ordinance 20-12 of the City of Morrison Establishing An Increase in Salary From The City Clerk to $1800, seconded by Alderman Eizenga. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Tervelt, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets, Bruckner) and 0 nays, the motion carried. 

5) Alderman Mahaffey moved to Purchase a 2020 Dodge Durango Pursuit AWD through Kunes Country, Morrison and Associated Equipment and Installation as Presented, seconded by Alderman Eizenga. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Tervelt, Eizenga, Mahaffey, Zuidema, Welding, West, Deets, Bruckner) and 0 nays, the motion carried.

Other Items for Consideration, Discussion & Information: 

1) Ordinance 20-09 Authorizing Bes Wick Home. 2) Ordinance 20-10 Waiver of Competitive Bidding Bes Wick Home.

Executive Session: 

1) Pursuant to 5 İLCS 120/2(C)(1), Alderman Mahaffey moved to enter Executive Session to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee(s), seconded by Alderman Zuidema. On a roll call vote of 8 ayes (Mahaffey, Zuidema, Mahaffey, West, Tervelt, Bruckner, Eizenga, Deets) and 0 nays, the motion carried. 

Executive Session began at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Regular session resumed at 9:15 p.m. No action was taken as a result of Executive Session.

With no additional business to discuss, Alderman Zuidema moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman Mahaffey (All ayes). Meeting adjourned at 9:1
