ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 71: Esperanza Legal Assistance Center taking applications for COVID-19 Immigrant Family Support Project Emergency Funds

Illinois State House District 71 issued the following announcement on July 30

The COVID-19 Immigrant Family Support Project is a partnership between Illinois Department of Human Services and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights in coordination with Esperanza Legal Assistance Center. The project is accepting applications from individuals and families who are seeking emergency funds to help with household expenses during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Eligible households may receive a one-time assistance grant of $1,000. Note: Submission of an application does not constitute automatic application approval.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for assistance:

* Families must not be eligible for any federal stimulus, unemployment insurance, or public benefits.

* Be a resident of Illinois (living in Rock Island, Mercer, Henry or Whiteside Counties)

* Have experienced an income disruption due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

* Priority will be given to applicants with household income below 200% Federal Poverty Line

* Must provide proof of identity and residency.
