Ogle County Security Committee met Aug. 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairwoman Nordman called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. Present: Sulser. Present via audio: Billeter, Janes, Oltmanns, Smith and Youman. Others: Sheriff Brian VanVickle. Others via audio: Coroner Lou Finch.

2. Approval of Minutes – July 14, 2020: Motion by Youman to approve the minutes as presented, 2nd by Janes. Motion carried.

3. Public Comment: None

4. Monthly Bills

 Review of Department Billing: Motion by Sulser that the credit card/department billing has been reviewed, 2nd by 

Sheriff: $6,706.97

Emergency Communications: $1,320.30

Smith. Motion carried. Corrections: $1,166.32 

OEMA: $65.56

 Sheriff: Motion by Janes to approve the bills totaling $6,174.66, 2nd by Sulser. Motion carried.

 Emergency Communications: Motion by Youman to approve the bills totaling $24,384.24, 2nd by Billeter. Motion carried.

 Corrections: Motion by Oltmanns to approve the bills totaling $7,467.54, 2nd by Sulser. Motion carried.

 OEMA: Motion by Janes to approve the bills totaling $209.50, 2nd by Smith. Motion carried.

 Coroner: Motion by Sulser to approve the bills totaling $4,812.57, 2nd by Janes. Motion carried.

5. Coroner Report: Coroner Finch stated they have had 43 deaths since last month.

6. Sheriff Report: VanVickle stated traffic arrests are up; they have been very busy.

7. Safety Report: None

8. New Business: VanVickle presented a draft of the Noise Ordinance; he does have some questions for the State’s Attorney. Youman asked what the big drive behind it was. VanVickle explained that his office has been receiving some complaints and what their current procedure is for handling those calls. Brief discussion was held regarding the need for such an ordinance and what would be exempt.

9. Adjournment: With no further business, Chairwoman Nordman adjourned the meeting. Time: 2:22 p.m.
