Dixon Rural Fire Protection District responded to 115 calls in 2018 - 23.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Dixon Rural included 94 fires - 35 structure fires, 13 vehicle fires and 46 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $194,675 in fire loss - or about $2,071 per fire.

The department also received 19 false calls, including three malicious calls and 16 other false calls.
