Ogle County Security Committee met Oct. 13.

1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairwoman Nordman called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. Present: Billeter, Oltmanns, Sulser and Youman. Present via audio: Smith and Janes. Others: Chief Deputy Jeanette Bennett. Absent: Sheriff Brian VanVickle and Coroner Lou Finch.
2. Approval of Minutes – September 8, 2020: Motion by Oltmanns to approve the minutes as presented, 2nd by Sulser. Roll call: Yes – Janes, Oltmanns, Sulser, Youman, Billeter and Nordman. Motion carried.
3. Public Comment: None
4. Monthly Bills
Review of Department Billing: Motion by Oltmanns that the credit card/department billing has been reviewed, 2nd by Janes. Roll call: Yes – Janes, Smith, Oltmanns, Sulser, Youman, Billeter and Nordman. Motion carried.
Sheriff: $7,820.42 Corrections: $2,310.05
Emergency Communications: $1,353.84 OEMA: $2,602.72
Sheriff: Motion by Youman to approve the bills totaling $263.30, 2nd by Sulser. Roll call: Yes – Smith, Janes, Billeter, Nordman, Sulser, Oltmanns and Youman. Motion carried.
Emergency Communications: Motion by Oltmanns to approve the bills totaling $12,030.00, 2nd by Smith. Roll call: Yes – Sulser, Oltmanns, Youman, Janes, Smith, Billeter and Nordman. Motion carried.
Corrections: Motion by Billeter to approve the bills totaling $16,414.71, 2nd by Oltmanns. Roll call: Yes – Billeter, Nordman, Sulser, Oltmanns, Youman, Janes and Smith. Motion carried.
OEMA: Motion by Youman to approve the bills totaling $316.51, 2nd by Smith. Roll call: Yes – Billeter, Nordman, Sulser, Oltmanns, Youman, Janes and Smith. Motion carried.
Coroner: Motion by Oltmanns to approve the bills totaling $373.69, 2nd by Youman. Roll call: Yes – Youman, Oltmanns, Sulser, Nordman, Billeter, Janes and Smith. Motion carried.
5. Coroner Report: Bennett stated they have had 51 deaths since last month.
6. Sheriff Report: None
7. Safety Report: Nordman questioned the problem with the fire alarm system at Pines Rd Annex. Discussion was held; Oltmanns would like to have all systems checked and make sure the key holder list is up to date.
8. New Business: Nordman would like to remind the Dept. Heads to make sure all FY2020 invoices are submitted and paid out of this budget cycle. She does not want to see any carried over to FY2021 budget.
9. Adjournment: With no further business, Chairwoman Nordman adjourned the meeting. Time: 2:17 p.m.
