Lane Closure on US 30 Gateway Bridge
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that a lane closure will be installed on US 30 in Whiteside County, Illinois. The lane closure will be on the Gateway Bridge over the Mississippi River in the westbound lane on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
IDOT workers will be performing bridge maintenance.
Overnight Lane Closure on I-88 over Polo Rd east of IL-40 Interchange
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that an overnight lane closure will be installed in Whiteside County. The lane closure will be on I-88 over Polo Rd, 2 miles east of the IL 40 interchange. The lane closure will be in the eastbound passing lane beginning Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 9:00 AM and conclude Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
IDOT workers will be performing bridge deck repairs.
Intermittent Lane Closures Possible on I-88 over the Rock River in November
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work will begin on Monday, November 2, 2020, on the bridge carrying I-88 over the Rock River near Rock Falls. Civil Constructors, Inc. will be starting the $270,000 project for maintenance upgrades to the drainage components at the expansion joints.
Most of the project will be completed from underneath the structure without affecting traffic. However, intermittent lane closures may be required to complete the project, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
Bridge carrying IL Route 172 over Hennepin Feeder Canal south of Rock Falls to see one lane with signals through November
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work will begin on Monday, November 2, 2020, on the bridge carrying IL Route 172 over the Hennepin Feeder Canal south of Rock Falls. Brandt Construction Co. will be starting the $105,000 project to remove and replace a beam on the structure.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane utilizing temporary traffic signals for the duration of the project. The bridge with be posted with a maximum width of 12 ft 6 inches, with a 14 ft clear opening. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.

IL 84 south of Savanna to be closed to all traffic November 2-6 for BNSF Rail upgrades; detour to be marked
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that IL 84, just south of Savanna, will be closed to all through traffic from Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 6, 2020. The closure will allow the BNSF Railroad to remove and replace the at-grade crossing located approximately one-quarter mile north of Airport Road.
To allow continued traffic movement, a detour will be marked on Argo Fay Road, IL 78, and IL 64 / US 52.
Drivers are asked to be alert for the road closure and use alternate roadways when traveling this area. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
