City of Dixon City Council met Sept. 24.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Arellano at 8:01am.

ROLL CALL

Councilman Considine, Marshall, Oros, Venier, and Mayor Arellano answered roll call.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/INVOCATION

No Flag Present

PUBLIC COMMENT

No Public Present

DISCUSSION

Dr. Mandrell, Vice President of Student Services at SVCC gave opening remarks. Fire Chief Buskohl presented on the Fire Department: review on ambulance, personnel training, future planning, and the department. Discussion ensued throughout the presentation. Fire Chief Buskohl and Police Chief Howell presented on Resiliency Components for the departments, and discussion ensued throughout the presentation. Police Chief Howell presented on the Police Department: review on staffing, testing, the department, Safe Passage, PRISM, RMS; discussion ensued throughout the presentation.

DISCUSSION

Discussion resumed with the Chiefs. Dr. Mandrell spoke regarding needing another day for discussion of all that has been presented. Another Retreat Session was scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Sauk Valley Community College. Councilman Venier presented on Arts and Culture and how it attributes to the City and discussion ensued throughout the presentation. Dr. Mandrell wrapped up the meeting.

ADJOURMENT

Councilman Venier moved that the Special Council Meeting of Thursday, September 24, 2020 be adjourned to meet in Special Session on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 8:00am at Sauk Valley Community College. Seconded by Councilman Oros. Voting Yea: Councilman Considine, Marshall, Oros, Venier, and Mayor Arellano. Voting Nay: None. Motion Carried

The meeting adjourned at 11:10am.
