The Genz Memorial Investment Fund is now making money available to Joe Daviess County businesses looking to back pilot projects across the surrounding area.
Local economic development officials recently provided details about the fund, the bizTIMES reported, which will contribute anywhere from $4,000 to $8,000 in gap financing to neighborhood businesses and entrepreneurs looking to take their enterprise to the next level.
According to the Northwest Illinois Economic Development agency, the fund was established by the late John “Jack” Genz of Galena. The fund totals more than $400,000 in assets and will be administered by Illinois Bank & Trust.
Economic Development agency is slated to award up to three loans annually to candidates deemed worthy, with applications for this year required to be submitted no later than Friday, April 30.
