City of East Dubuque issued the following announcement on Apr. 15.
If you have a missed call from 815-747-3913 it is just a Code Red call with a simple FYI message that went as follows:
It has come to our attention that our newly upgraded sewer plant has been catching Lysol wipes which is causing several costly problems to our new system. Please refrain from flushing these and any wipes down your toilets. If you are cleaning with them please remember to throw them in the garbage. We all need to work together to keep costs down for repairs. The only items that should be flushed are human body wastes and toilet paper. As you are aware the more the cost to maintain this new system the higher the cost to the residents and businesses.
