Highland Falls To #10 Butler Community College

Highland, KS The Scotties home opener didn't go as planned falling to Butler Community College 45-3. 

The Grizzlies scored 28 points in the first quarter. Highland's Grant Sillyman scored the first points of the season at the 10:51 mark in the second quarter, nailing a 42-yard field goal. The Scotties trailed 35-3 at the half. 

Jake Smitherman went 3-6 for 37 yards, Kason Jones averaged 3 yards per carry for 24 yards, and Franck Pierre had 3 catches for 40 yards to lead Highland offensively. Tank Williams averaged 22.4 yards per kick return and had a long run of 39 yards. 

Defensively for the Scotties, Jordan Jackson had five tackles, two sacks, and three tackles for loss. Brooks Redden had seven tackles and one for loss, to go along with Cary Grant's six stops.

The (0-2) Scotties will travel to Dodge City to play (0-2) Dodge City Community College on Saturday in hopes of getting their first win. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m.
