City of Rock Falls Ordinance License Personnel Safety Committee met Sept. 21.

Call to Order 

Meeting was called to Order by Chairman Sobottka at 5:30 p.m. 

Public Comment 

Brick Boss spoke in favor of allowing off highway vehicles to be legalized within the City. 

New Business 

B. Chairman asked to move New Business B. on agenda. Committee discussed and reviewed Non-Highway Vehicle proposed ordinance. Committee discussed which vehicle types would be allowed. A motion was made by Alderman Snow to have the City Attorney draft an ordinance in keeping with the language given to the Committee by Chief Pilgrim allowing for Golf Carts and Side by Sides and to forward that ordinance onto City Council, second by Alderman Doane, roll call vote, all ayes. 

Have ordinance drafted and send to Council. 

Approve Minutes 

Committee reviewed and a motion was made by Alderwoman McKanna to approve the minutes as presented for June 23, 2022, second by Alderman Snow, motion carried. 

June 23, 2022 minutes approved 

New Business 

A. Committee reviewed proposed language changes as presented by Chief Pilgrim to Chapter 4, Article IV - Dangerous Animals to align with current state law. The ordinance will bring the City's current ordinance into compliance with State statute. A motion was made by Alderman Snow to approve the changes and send to City Council for approval, second by Alderwoman McKanna, motion carried.

Department Head Safety Minutes

Committee reviewed safety meeting minutes. 

 Committee Member 

Alderman Doane asked that the number of hours that residents can park in their front yard be reduced. Committee agreed to put it on the next OLPS agenda for discussion and action.
