City of Rock Falls Public Works/Public Property Committee met Aug. 3.

1. Call to Order
Alderman Wangelin called the meeting to order with a quorum present at 8:15 a.m.
2. Minutes
Review of the July 6, 2023, Public Works/Public Property minutes as presented. Motion was made by Alderman Wangelin; second by Alderman Dowd. 3 ayes, motion approved.
3. Engineer's Report
Cory Buck informed the committee that the bid opening for the Celletti Parking Lot on E 2nd Street was going to be on August 31, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
4. New Business
Approval to extend the Cash Farm Lease with Ted Jacobs for 57.5 tillable acres for Lots 3, 4 and 5 in Glen's Garden Subdivision for the 2024 growing season (December 1, 2023 through November 30, 2024) with the same terms as the original lease. Motion was made by Alderman Wangelin; second by Alderman McKanna. 3 ayes, motion approved.
5.Street Department
Sale of the 2009 T-7500 Patcher and 6,000 gallon tank was tabled and will be brought back to the September meeting.
Dave Miller, Street Department Superintendent was unable to attend the meeting, supplied the committee with an update memo.
City Administrator Blackert stated that the concrete was complete along the 1st Ave - 1st Street Parking Lot, the fencing is going to be installed on August 21, 2023. We already have the screening for the fence and that will be installed after the fence is complete. We will have the benches and the sculpture installed last.
The City Attorney is sending a letter to the contractor regarding the crack filling bid.

Review of the Rock Falls Community Building 1st and 2nd Quarter financial reports.
7. Adjournment
A motion was made by Alderman Wangelin and second by Alderman McKanna to adjourn. Vote unanimous.
