City of Mt. Carroll City Council met Nov. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER/ROLL CALL-Lanark City Council met in special session at the Lanark City Hall at 6 p.m. Roll call taken by Marilyn Heller, City Clerk, showed Alderpersons present were Kevin Barnes, Lynn Collins, Brad Knutti, and Ed Stern. Alderperson Haley Grim was absent.

Mayor Mark Macomber was present and presiding.

Others present were: Attorney Ed Mitchell, Chief Troy Randall, Trevor Knutti and Clerk Marilyn Heller.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE-was led by Trevor Knutti.

INSURANCE RENEWAL – ACTION REQUIRED – Clerk shared that she reached out to Matt at Broadmoor to remove the 2018 squad car and add both the 2023 squad car and a mower for the cemetery. Matt stated these two changes it will increase the premium $250.00. A Motion was made by Alderperson Ed Stern and seconded by Alderperson Brad Knutti to approve to insurance renewal with ICRMT (Broadmoor Agency). Motion carried by 5 aye votes. Aye votes: Alderpersons Kevin Barnes, Brad Knutti, Ed Stern, Lynn Collins, and Mark Macomber. Alderperson Haley Grim was absent.

BUILDING PERMIT – ACTION REQUIRED – Mayor Mark shared that Eastland School is interested in purchasing two residential properties, 202 and 210 E. Pearl, and wanted to confirm they would be able to build on it. Attorney Ed Mitchill went over Ord 10-5-2 and 10-6-2 confirming the school could build on the two properties in low density residential districts. No Action Taken.

ADJOURNMENT-MOTION-was made by Alderperson Brad Knutti and seconded by Alderperson Ed Stern to adjourn at 6:10 p.m. Motion carried by 5 aye votes. Aye votes: Alderpersons Kevin Barnes, Brad Knutti, Ed Stern, Lynn Collins, and Mark Macomber. Alderperson Haley Grim was absent.
