In a bid to foster open communication and connect directly with the citizens of the 37th State Senate District, candidate Li Arellano has launched an initiative urging constituents to engage in honest conversations about the issues that matter most to them. Arellano emphasized the importance of transparency, open dialogue, and addressing even the most challenging issues facing Illinois residents.

“Be a part of this movement! Your engagement matters, and your voice deserves to be heard,” Arellano said on Facebook. “Join us in building a stronger Illinois for all.”

“Drop your questions and thoughts in the comments below, and let’s start a conversation that leads to positive change.”

In his social media outreach efforts, Arellano positioned himself as a reliable representative for Illinoisans in the Senate. He declared his commitment to serving with integrity and honesty while emphasizing community unity through asking questions, expressing concerns, and sharing ideas.

"Li Arellano, a dedicated advocate for our great state, is here to represent YOU in the Illinois State Senate," he said.

Arellano underscored the importance of respectful and constructive dialogue for a thriving democracy. He also stressed that considering people's perspectives and opinions is vital.

"Your voice is not only welcomed but valued," he added to his Facebook post.

As his campaign gathers pace, Arellano's emphasis on open communication lays the groundwork for an inclusive approach to governance. This approach reinforces the notion that an informed electorate is crucial for democratic health. As part of this initiative, Arellano shared a flyer promoting the "Ask the Candidate" campaign. The flyer invites residents to share their questions and thoughts in the comments section so that Arellano can provide answers and insights helping voters make informed decisions.

"Your voice matters, so let’s engage in a meaningful conversation with Li to help you make the right decision!" the flyer reads.

Arellano has previously served two terms as Mayor of Dixon. He is a small business owner, owning two Jimmy John’s franchises, a frozen yogurt shop named the Frosted Spoon, and a commercial property leasing company. Shaw Local reported that he ran on a pledge to clean up the city following Rita Crundwell’s $54 million fraud and embezzlement conviction. Crundwell served as treasurer for the municipality from 1983 to 2012, during which she misappropriated funds largely for her horse breeding operation.

The 37th State Senate District comprises Lee, Bureau, Henry, DeKalb, Ogle, Rock Island, Whiteside, Stark, Peoria, Woodford and Marshall counties according to ilga.gov. The district is currently represented by State Sen. Win Stoller (R-Germantown Hills). He announced in August that he would not be seeking a third term.
